Spy: Chanel’s S/S 2015 couture show in bloom

This season Chanel’s set maestro Etienne Russo of Villa Eugenie planted a colonial-style glasshouse within Paris’ Grand Palais, blooming with all sorts of tropical species crafted solely from paper in a feat of craft engineering. “They’re flowers that don’t exist, it’s a vision of an earthy paradise,” Karl Lagerfeld said. The set offered the perfect oasis for Lagerfeld’s relaxed silhouette dominated by cropped, mid-drift jackets teamed with hip-slung skirts, before floral buds burst into bloom and Lagerfeld declared, “The waist is the new cleavage”. Not to forget the traditional couture bride who was escorted by ‘gardener’ bridesmaids carrying exotic stems.
