Somewhere in the world it’s warm and sunny! But for those of us spending our holidays somewhere where it’s not, next spring’s fancy for natural textures and sun bleached hues offers a welcomed day dream. From JW Anderson’s Loewe debut that saw taupe open knits teamed with canvas bootleg pants and an array of peeling, patchworked suede pieces to Stella McCartney’s cut-out sweater dresses, there’s call of the wild coming for spring that’s taking us right back to nature. Raw canvas and linen fabrications have been thrown into the mix depicting a new minimalism, while washed out tones were seen everywhere from Victoria Beckham to The Row and Marni. Moral to this story? We’re revisiting that pared-back Nineties aesthetic, but this time around, it’s imbued with an avant-garde design persuasion that speaks only of luxury.
